A woman was hit by an oncoming car on while she was walking in North Hollywood. The accident occurred on the busy 170 Freeway in Hollywood at around 12.40 a.m. at night. The woman, aged 55, suffered serious injuries on the freeway just north of the Victory Boulevard. She was walking in the middle of the road coming from the number 3 lane, headed towards the right shoulder. It was at this point that she walked right into an oncoming 2005 Scion XA.
The woman was rushed to the Kaiser Permanente Panorama City Medical Center by paramedics. However, she succumbed to her injuries and died at 6:32 a.m. in the morning.
The Scion driver who hit the 55 year old woman was not arrested. The woman, 43 years old, was from North Hollywood. The police did not make any arrest because, what happened clearly appeared to be an accident and there was no alcohol or drugs involved. She was released after giving her statement of what happened.
The Highway Patrol in California reported that by all indications it seemed like what happened was an accident. They however asked anybody who might have seen what happened or have any valuable information to call its office at West Valley area at (818) 888-0980.
