Chula Vista, California (January 23, 2017) – According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, a male pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash Sunday evening in Chula Vista.

At about 6:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan 22, a man was struck by an unknown vehicle as he was crossing Broadway at G Street.  The vehicle did not stop at the crash.

Responding officers found the man unresponsive, and attempts by the paramedics to revive him failed. The man died of his injuries at the scene.

The accident remained under investigation.

Majority of the pedestrian accidents that are reported in California occur on busy roads, dark corners and at intersections. All drivers and motorcycle riders are asked to keep their eyes on the road especially when driving or riding in such places. You should stay alert at all times by avoiding any kind of distraction such as texting or calling while driving.  On the other hand, pedestrians are asked to be careful while crossing busy streets. Watch out for the oncoming vehicles and the cross when it is safe to cross.
