Monterey, California (January 5, 2017) – A pedestrian was injured early Wednesday morning following a pedestrian versus vehicle accident in Monterey, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The accident took place at about 1:07 a.m. yesterday in an unidentified area of Castroville Boulevard.

As per the report, the pedestrian, whose name was not released, was hit by a gray Toyota Camry.

Officers responded and found the Toyota at the scene with doors closed and the driver was trying to open his door.

An ambulance was dispatched to the scene to attend to the injured pedestrian.

Responding units also reported that there was possible damage in the crash.

No further information regarding the accident was provided. The incident remains under investigation.
