Nacogdoches County, Texas (April 25, 2017) – Several people were injured Monday morning following a multi-vehicle wreck in Nacogdoches County, according to a report.

The incident took place at about 11:35 a.m. on State Highway 103 east of Lufkin.

As per the report, a chicken truck and several other vehicles were involved in the accident.

According to the report by the Texas Department of Public Safety, the chicken truck was traveling westbound on SH 103 at a high rate of speed as it approached a construction zone. The 18-wheere struck four vehicles that were stopped at the construction zone before it overturned and hit a dump truck. The impact pushed the dump truck into another vehicle.

As per the report, a total of eight vehicles, including the chicken truck, were involved in the wreck. One of the vehicles was described as a red Toyota and was driven by Belinda Rothfeld.

Seven people were injured in the crash. One of the seven was taken by a helicopter to a hospital while the other six were transported to a nearby hospital.
