Bobby Duke Dies of Injuries Sustained in Stassney Lane Crash in Austin

Austin, Texas (May 5, 2017) – A man who was hit and critically injured by a vehicle on April 27 in southeast Austin died April 30, according to a police report.

48-yar-old Bobby Joe Duke had stepped out of a westbound Capital Metro bus near the intersection of East Stassney Lane and Chaparral Trail at about 6:20 a.m.

Reportedly, Duke was crossing the street in front of the bus when a westbound Chevrolet Silverado allegedly struck him.

Duke was rushed to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center in critical condition.

According to a report released by police on Wednesday, Bobby Duke died of his injuries on Sunday, April 30.

The incident remains under investigation.
