Following a multi-vehicle accident, in Campbell California, a motorcycle rider was sent to the hospital in critical condition.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Hamilton and Leigh avenues new the border with San Jose.

Captain Gary Berg of the Campbell Police Department stated that after an initial investigation it appears the accident was caused by a vehicle running a red light.

Berg revealed that the motorcyclist was an adult male and was transported to the hospital with major injuries.

According to Berg the crash involved two cars, a van, an SUV, and a motorcycle.

The crash occurred at 2:15 on February 26th and the intersection was shut down during the investigation and did not reopen until 7:45 pm later that night.

Despite the nature of the crash, Berg states that neither drugs nor alcohol played a factor in the accident.

All involved parties remained at the scene and cooperated with the police, Berg said.

Police are asking for any witnesses to the crash to step forward and provide their eye-witness accounts by calling the Campbell Police Department at 408-866-2101.
