There was a three vehicle collision early in the morning that unfortunately caused the death of two people. The collision was so fatal because there was a big rig involved.
Since the stakebed truck was full of lemons, the crash caused them to spill all over the highway, probably leaving many weary onlookers to think of the proverb beginning with, “When life gives you lemons…” The spillage and the accident caused the state highway to be shut down until authorities could collect all of the lemons.
The momentum launched a Toyota 150 feet down the highway. The vehicle was out of control through that duration. The stakebed truck shifted into oncoming traffic and crashed into another big rig. Unfortunately, both the driver of the big rig and the Toyota succumbed to their injuries. They were both pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the stakebed, though, walked out of the hospital with only a few minor physical injuries.
Onlookers who were waiting for the lemons to be cleared so that they could proceed on their way reported that they always considered the intersection to be very dangerous. They said that there are far too many blind turns. Traffic often emerges unexpectedly. Even the most careful driver would have been at risk at an intersection such as this one.
