69-year-old Man Killed in Broadway and 49th Street Hit-and-Run Crash in South Los Angeles
South Los Angeles, California (February 13, 2017) – A male pedestrian was killed Saturday morning after he was hit by a hit-and-run driver while closing the road in a South L.A. intersection.
The hit-and-run crash occurred around 6:20 a.m. at the intersection of Broadway and 49th Street.
As per the report, the pedestrian as crossing the street westbound in a crosswalk when a southbound vehicle struck hit. The driver fled the scene after the crash leaving the man to die.
The LAFD paramedics responded to the scene and transported the 69-year-old man to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The decedent’s name was not immediately available pending notification of next of kin.
The police are seeking the hit-and-run driver, and anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to call LAPD at 213-833-3713.
The incident remains under investigation.
