Hollywood, California (February 6, 2017) – Two women were killed, and two men were taken to hospital in critical condition after a van fell off an overpass and landed on a Hollywood freeway, according to a police report.

The accident took place at about 7:20 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 when a van broke a concrete pillar near Barham Blvd overpass and launched over six lanes of 101 Freeway.

The vehicle landed in the center divider and struck a vehicle in the southbound lanes of the freeway.  The impact of the collision left the two vehicles with significant damage.  A third vehicle suffered minor damage but its involvement in the crash was not clear and no one in the car was injured.

The van was carrying three people, two women and a man, at the time of the crash. The two women aged 50 and 60 years were killed in the crash. The 60-year-old man was critically injured and was taken to the hospital.

Another man, 48, was also taken to hospital in critical condition.

The cause of the fatal accident remains under investigation.
