A local patrol officer who was assigned a position in President Obama’s motorcade was injured in a crash in West Los Angeles on the 13th of February.

The accident occurred at around 10 a.m. on the southern 405 Freeway of Olympic Boulevard. The officer involved in the crash was rushed to a local medical facility. Despite his injuries he is said to be in stable condition.

In a video captured by a civilian who was watching the President’s convoy pass by from across the highway, the motorcyclist can be seen coming into frame already sliding across the pavement.

The CHP said an investigation was underway to decide on the factors that may have caused the local officer to loose control of his motorcycle. Due to the context of the accident further details were not released immediately.

President Obama was in California to attend Democratic fundraisers and to tape a segment with “The Ellen Degeneres Show.

The incident did not delay the travels of President Obama. He arrived at his destination, Palm Springs International Airport, on time, at 11:40 a.m.
