An unidentified motorcyclist was observed driving at high speeds and attempting one wheeled stunts around 10:45 Thursday Evening, March 10, 2016. When the Los Angeles Police Department attempted to confront the motorcyclist he sped away triggering the pursuit that began near the intersection of 50th Street and Crenshaw Boulevard. The pursuit, however, was short lived and ended in Leimert Park with the motorcyclist crashing his red motorcycle into a black SUV at the intersection Leimert and West Martin Luther King Jr. boulevards. Police say that the motorcycle was travelling approximately 80 miles per hour at the time of impact. The force of the impact was so strong that it literally broke the motorcycle into several pieces. The driver of the SUV suffered only minor injuries but paramedics declared that the motorcyclist, described simply as an adult male, was dead at the scene of the accident. The intersection of Leimert and West Martin Luther King Jr. boulevards was reportedly closed for about five hours as crews worked to clean up the scene of the accident. The accident is under investigation.
