– A 2-car head-on collision on the Pearblossom Highway has left one person dead and three others injured.
The California Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene near Sierra Highway around 3:40 p.m.
According to the Antelope Valley Times, a woman identified as Erica Agilar, 35, of Lake Los Angeles, was driving a silver 2004 BMW in the eastbound lane of Pearlblossom Highway when she crossed into the westbound lane and struck a 2003 Infinity driven by 46-year-old Michael Aritam of San Gabriel.
CHP estimates that Agilar was driving around 65 mph when she struck the Infinity.
According to the Antelope Valley Times, the driver and two passengers sustained serious injuries. Agilar was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital where she is recovering from her injuries.
The two passengers, identified as Genevieve Agilar, 13, and Mary Jane Aguilar, 8. They were air-lifted to Children’s Hosptial Los Angeles. Genevieve Aguilar later succumbed to her injuries.
Airitram sustained moderate injuries and was treated at Antelope Valley Hospital.
CHP says the accident is still being investigated.
