That previous Tuesday, a worker who was contractually employed with SoCal Edison met with an untimely fatality due to a crane gone awry at a construction site in West Hollywood. According to the Los Angeles County Sherriff’s report, the employee was appeared as if he had been crushed between a crane and a trailer. As a result, the death was ruled as an “industrial accident”. However, the employee was not officially declared deceased until his body arrived at the hospital.

The call was made to emergency services around 4pm. The exact location of the construction was less than a mile away from the intersection at Sunset and La Cinega Boulevards. The OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) issued an investigation of the scene and had Cinega Boulevard closed down. It is uncertain as to when it will be allowed to reopen.

Update as of April 29, 2016:

Cinega and Sunset are now allowed to be re-opened during off-hours. However, one lane that leads north will remain closed between the typical work hours of 8am and 6pm.
