A man was hit by two vehicles in Modesto while riding his motorcycle, he later succumbed to his injuries.

Emergency personnel quickly arrived on the scene to find 38 year old Joseph Young on the road in front of a utility vehicle.

California Highway Patrol Officer Chuck Leon has said that the victim was riding a Harley Davidson along Woodland. As he was passing a Nissan pickup truck driven by Antone Lopez, age 59 who was stopped at a stop sign, the driver of the pickup suddenly pulled out in front of the motorcyclist.

Joseph Young then clipped the side of the pick up truck, which sent him flying into the opposite lane of traffic where he was struck by a utility truck.

The motorcyclist died almost instantly at the scene. His body was covered by a white sheet and the road between Graphics Drive and North Emerald Avenue was shut down.

While drugs or alcohol do not seem to be the cause of this tragic accident, investigations remain underway to determine the details.
