Life is fleeting. This is particularly evident for Jessica Lujan of Anaheim, who recently was involved in a car accident, as the vehicle that she was in crashed into a tree. It is reported that the driver of the vehicle was under the influence of alcohol. The crash occurred at 3 in the morning near Overlake.

When the Anaheim police arrived on the scene, they found that both the driver and the passenger were trapped. After the crash, they were probably fatally injured and unable to escape, leaving them to succumb to their wounds while trying to get out of the vehicle. It took a lot of effort for the local fire department to pry them loose. So it is improbable that they would have escaped even if these two had not been injured. Further, when the police removed them from the vehicle, they discovered that the vehicle did not have any airbags. This very much enhanced the severity of the crash.

However, when the driver and the passenger were removed from their vehicles, they were taken in to the hospital. The driver was in critical condition, but after extensive surgery, he survived. Ms. Lujan, however, did not.

Authorities consider this case to be a DUI matter, and the driver is likely to face chargers. This was not his first incident driving under the influence of alcohol. He is probably going to charged with a DUI, vehicular manslaughter and perhaps he will even be charged with homicide if it can be established that he had the malicious intent to harm or murder Ms. Lujan as a result of the crash.

The area of the crash was closed for several hours after the crash had occurred. Authorities had to ensure that there were no safety hazards that would have been left behind.
