A male pedestrian ran across all lanes on Interstate 80 close by Douglas Boulevard, during the Thursday morning commute, where a vehicle hit and killed him in Roseville.

The California Highway Patrol began receiving reports of a man crossing the Interstate 80 along the eastbound landed at 5:30 p.m. Shortly, the California Highway Patrol received reports of the male pedestrian ran crossed all o of the eastbound lanes from the right shoulder to the center median.

Later California Highway Patrol received reports a vehicle struck the pedestrian. The car hit the male pedestrian on the eastbound side of the freeway and ended up on the westbound section of the freeway.

California Highway Patrol closed the Interstate 80 due to the accident. Only one lane, the fast lane, of the Interstate 80 westbound was open to traffic near Eureka Road for California Highway Patrol to conduct an investigation.

California Highway Patrol reopened the westbound lanes on Interstate 80 around 10:00 a.m. Anyone needing to drive in this area may experience gridlock.
