5 Killed in State Route 12 Crash near Rio Vista CA

Five people were killed in a crash that occurred on State Route 12 in Northern California on Saturday April, 9 2016. The crash claimed the lives of two women, a young girl, a teenager and a young boy.
Four of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene after their Honda Civic crashed into a Chevy Silverado. Police identified three of the five victims have been identified as Andelaynna G. Ortiz, 3, Aaliyah Buenrostro, 17, and Annalicia Mono Montoya, 21 of Modeesto.
The accident occurred near Rio Vista California on State Route 12. Before the crash, the Honda Civic was reportedly seen driving in the eastbound lane attempting to pass in front of another car by entering into the opposite lane, but didn’t’ have enough room to pass. The driver of the Honda Civic lost controlled of the vehicle and swerved into a Chevy Silverado in the westbound lane.
The four people in the Chevy Silverado were taken to the hospital where they received treatment for minor injuries
