PINYON PINES: Marcus Green was arrested after the death of his unrestrained infant daughter was killed when his Porsche tumbled over the side of a Highway 74 mountain. Mr. Green entered a not guilty plea for vehicular manslaughter and felony child endangerment charges.

Green was traveling down the mountain, toward Palm Desert on Highway 74 with his 5-month-old daughter, Armani Green, and her mother, Kristen Lauer, when his Porsche crashed into a guardrail, flipping the car over the edge and down the mountainside. According to CHP officers, the 5-month old was not properly secured in her infant seat, and was ejected after the collision.

During rescue efforts, Green began inquiring about his infant daughter and CHP officers scouted the area for the baby, soon finding the body lying upon some rocks. The infant was pronounced dead at the scene.

Armani’s parents, 51 year-old Green, and her mother, 22-year-old Kristen Lauer were airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center, where Lauer is still admitted for back injuries.

Investigators have ruled out drugs and alcohol, but say speed was a factor in the accident.

Although Green has been the only parent charged, Kristen Lauer could also face possible child endangerment charges.
