A recent traffic accident in San Francisco caused the death of one local man, according to the San Francisco Police Department. The accident occurred on Highway 80 eastbound, at around noon on April 21, and authorities believe it was caused by another accident that had occurred hours before. Ambulance workers and policemen were headed down the highway to respond to an accident where an ambulance worker slammed an ambulance the side of a construction site. Apparently, the driver of the trailer tractor that caused the second collision on the highway was distracted by the accident that involved the ambulance and the construction site. The trailer tractor driver barreled into a vehicle that was driving directly ahead of him. The force of the trailer tractor caused the small vehicle to be completely crushed, immediately killing the driver of the car. The drive of the trailer tractor was treated for minor injuries. Authorities have used the tragic death of the automobile driver who was killed to reinforce safety opportunities within the Bay Area. The local police department has issued a statement asking drivers to please use extreme caution when driving past automobile accidents. They stated that drivers should be focused on the cars in front of them and not what’s going on in other lanes of traffic.
