San Francisco authorities recently released a statement describing an accident that occurred on a San Francisco, Ca highway that led to the death of a 23 year old man on April 13. The accident occurred on Route 52 at 5 am as the young man traveled to work. The young man was reportedly driving a sports utility vehicle and was traveling at a particularly fast rate. Instead of stopping at a red light, the young man drove through the light causing a collision between his vehicle and a large commercial trash compactor truck that was reportedly heading to the San Diego landfill. The incident caused an accident scene that was filled with debris that temporarily interrupted attempts by medical professionals to reach the passengers involved in the accident. When the debris was removed and medical professionals were able to climb through the crushed vehicles to find the driver of the sports utility vehicle, they realized that he had died and pronounced him dead at the scene. The driver of the commercial truck had minor injuries and is reportedly in stable condition at a hospital in San Diego. The accident caused significant delays in traffic because of passersby slowing down to view the wreckage.
