On Interstate 15 North, near San Diego, California, a plane crashed landed onto a car.
The collision happened after the driver of the Nissan car parked to sync his Bluetooth, a single- engine plane hit the Nissan car suddenly right after.
A 38- year old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, identified as Antoinette Francis Isabelle and was sitting in the back of the Nissan car. The other three passengers, including the driver, suffered moderate injuries.
The plane pilot, identified as Dennis Hogge, suffered severe head trauma. Another passenger in the plane was a 50-year- old woman, who didn’t suffer any life threatening injuries.
Howard Plagens, from the National Transportation Safety Board, said that it still isn’t very clear what caused the plane to crash land, and it doesn’t appear that the landing gear of the plane was engaged. However, according to Mr. Plagens, if a plane had a mechanical problem, the freeway was the best choice to land immediately.
All five injured were transported to the hospital. According to some witnesses, including Matt Nokes, the catcher for a Major League Baseball team said that Hogge was an excellent pilot, and he wouldn’t have done anything on purpose to injure us, surely there was a reason that something had gone wrong with the plane.
