OCEANSIDE, Calif. – A motorcycle collided with a woman walking across Oceanside Boulevard against the flow of traffic Saturday reported the police.

The unidentified woman sustained serious injuries n the pedestrian crash. The 47-year old female walked against a red light and did not use the designated pedestrian crosswalk but was walking about 10 feet from the crosswalk. She walked southbound across Oceanside Boulevard near Garrison Street around 2 p.m. in the afternoon.

The 25-year old motorcyclists had the right of way with a green light. He was heading eastbound, stated a witness at the scene to the Oceanside Police Department.
Sgt. Richard Schickel of the Oceanside Police Department said Paramedics rushed the female victim of the accident to the nearest hospital for treatment. The 47-year old woman sustained life-threatening injuries.

The motorcyclist could not stop fast enough to avoid striking the female walking in the street. The hospital treated the motorcyclist for minor injuries.

The accident is currently under investigation with the Oceanside Police Department. Sgt. Schickel does not suspect alcohol as a contributing factor of the accident. .
