Passenger Injured in Suspected DUI Crash on Avenue 52 in Coachella
Man, 38, Injured in Coachella DUI Crash on Avenue 52
Coachella, California (January 3, 2016) – A passenger was injured Sunday evening after a car he was driving in collided with another vehicle in Coachella, according to the Press-Enterprise
As per the article, Victor Manual Tellez, 33, of Indio was traveling westbound on Highway 52 when his vehicle crashed into a parked car at Cypress Street at about 5:38 p.m.
A 38-year-old man who was a passenger in Tellez’ vehicle suffered moderate injuries to his face and head.
Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the man to a local hospital for treatment.
Deputies determined that Tellez was driving under the influence at the time of the crash and was subsequently arrested and booked into Indio Jail where he is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
The incident remains under investigation.
