26-year-old Woman Killed in Treat Boulevard Pedestrian Accident in Concord
Concord, California (March 20, 2017) – According to a police report, a 26-year-old woman died Sunday night after being hit by a car while crossing a major commute road in Concord.
The incident was logged on at 10:46 p.m., March 19, at the intersection of Treat Boulevard between Wilmore Drive and San Simeon Drive.
According to an article by a local news source, the police said that the woman from Placerville was crossing Treat Boulevard when she was struck by a car, described as 2015 Honda, traveling east at that time. The woman was pronounced dead at the crash site.
A 58-year-old woman from Concord suspected of driving the involved vehicle left the scene but later contacted the police and was cooperating with them, as per the report.
The identity of the deceased was not released pending family notification.
The eastbound lanes of Treat Boulevard between San Simeon Drive and Blarney Avenue were closed until 3:35 a.m. to pave the way for investigations, according to the report.
Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash.
