Injuries Reported in Maxwell Two-vehicle Crash on I-5 Freeway Near Delevan Road Off-Ramp

Maxwell, California (February 17, 2017) – Two cars crashed on Thursday evening at the intersection of 5 Freeway and Delevan Road, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The report said that the accident took place at 7.50 p.m. Feb. 16.

A blue Toyota sedan was heading northbound on 5 Freeway when it veered to avoid a red Toyota SUV. It lost control and spun hitting the center divider.  The SUV stopped on the right shoulder then proceeded and seen exiting onto Delevan Road from I-5.

The responding officers found the sedan on the roadway, just south of Delevan.

Injuries of unspecified severity were reported after the accident. An ambulance was called to the scene to attend to those injured in the crash.

Towing services were also dispatched to help in the clearing operation.

The crash remains under investigation.
