Rider and Passenger Critically Injured in DUI Motorcycle Collision near North Pacific Street and Breakwater Way

Oceanside, California (February 7, 2017) – A motorcycle rider and his passenger were seriously injured Saturday morning in a DUI in Oceanside, according to a police report.

The accident took place at around 1.45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6 near North Pacific Street and Breakwater Way.

The report stated that a 46-year-old man riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson was carrying a 39-year-old woman near North Pacific Street and Breakwater Way.  The rider was unable to make a turn just north of the intersection and the bike hit a curb.

The two were ejected from the bike upon the impact.

The passenger and the rider were severely injured and were taken to a trauma center and were expected to survive.

The Oceanside Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the incident. As per the report, preliminary investigations revealed that the rider was under the influence, and was speeding when the collision occurred.
