Jeffrey Waller and Rosa Harris Killed in Refugio County Crash near Bayside

Refugio County, Texas (April 25, 2017) – Two people were killed, and two others were taken to a hospital after a deadly head-on crash in Refugio Monday afternoon, according to a DPS news release.

The incident took place at about 2:30 p.m. between a Dodge Pickup and Nissan Pathfinder SUV, according to the DPS report.

As per the report, the Dodge pickup was southbound on Farm-To-Market Road 136, south of Bayside. At the same time, the SUV was heading northbound on Farm-To-Market Road 136 when, for some reason, it swerved off the road to the right and the back across the center stripe and collided with the pickup.

Two people who were in the SUV died at the scene. The victims were identified as 62-year-old Jeffrey Waller and 77-year-old Rosa Harris both from Bayside, according to the report.

The driver of the Dodge pickup and a third passenger in the SUV were transported to Christus Spohn Hospital where they remain in serious condition, according to the report.

The cause of the deadly accident remains under investigation.
