Sacramento, CA: Sergio Guadalupe Jimenez Killed in Highway 50 Crash at Howe Street

 Sacramento, California (March 2, 2016) – One man was killed and another injured after three vehicles collided in Sacramento early Wednesday morning, as per an article by The Sacramento Bee.

The victim, Sergio Guadalupe Jimenez, 22, of Carmichael, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The according to CHP, the accident occurred at about 12:15 a.m. on Highway 50 west of Howe Street.

The article said that a car, driven by Jimenez,  heading east on the highway crashed into the south guardrail for unknown reasons. As a result, the car bounced back to the highway with the driver’s side facing oncoming traffic.

The driver of another car trying to exit at Howe Avenue did not see the wreck and ended up hitting the driver’s door area of the first vehicle knocking out the car’s engine. The impact of the second collision sent the first vehicle to the fifth lane where it was struck by a third car.

Jimenez was declared dead at the scene,

The driver of the second vehicle complained of pain and was treated for minor injuries according to Sacramento CBS.

Police said that the third driver escaped without injuries.

Separate investigations on the three collisions are ongoing by the CHP.
