Arlington, CA: Student in Critical Condition After Being Hit By SUV While Walking to School

Arlington, Texas (April 15, 2017) – A 15-year-old James Martin Highway School student was critically injured Wednesday morning after being struck by an SUV as he walked to school in Arlington, according to a report.

The incident took place at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday 12, 2017 when an SUV struck the teen in a crosswalk near the intersection of Park Springs Blvd and West Pleasant Ridge Road.

Reportedly, the impact of the accident smashed the passenger side windshield of the SUV. It also body damage on the vehicle.

The teen was transported by an ambulance to Medical City Arlington and then airlifted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas with life-threatening injuries and was listed in critical condition.

The involved driver remained at the scene and was arrested for an unrelated offense and outstanding warrants, according to a local news source.

The incident remained under investigation.
