81-year-old Betty Nichols Dies in Head-on Wreck on Highway 69 in Lumberton
Elderly Woman Killed in Lumberton Head-on Wreck on Highway 69
Lumberton, Texas (April 21, 2017) – An 81-year-old woman died Thursday afternoon in a head-on crash on in Lumberton, according to a local news source.
The incident took place at about 1 p.m. on U.S. Highway 69 near W. Chance Road.
Reportedly, a truck, driven by a 75-year-old man from Warren, for an unknown reason, crossed over the center divider and collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Betty Nichols of Lumberton.
Nichols was fatally injured in the wreck, according to the police.
The incident remains under investigation
