Los Angeles, CA: Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Westlake District, Vehicle Flees The Scene

Los Angeles, California (December 31, 2016) – According to a police report, a fatal hit-and-run crash was reported early Saturday morning in Westlake District.

The accident took place shortly before 2 a.m. today when a vehicle struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Emerald and Second streets. The vehicle then fled the scene.

As per the Los Angeles Police Department, the victim, identified as47-year-old Eugenie Pelagio was rushed to a hospital where they were pronounced dead.

The authorities described the suspect’s vehicle as a gray SUV, possibly a Ford Explore

The incident remains under investigation by the police to determine the cause.
