Anaheim, California (December 27, 2016) – According to a police report, a deadly accident between an Orange County Transportation transit bus and a car killed the car’s driver and injured 14 bus passengers Tuesday morning.

The accident took place at about 11:15 a.m. when a silver Toyota Avalon that was heading south on Harbor Boulevard crossed over into the opposing traffic and struck the transit bus. As per the report, the driver of the sedan may have suffered a medical emergency causing the vehicle to swerve into the northbound lanes.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported at least 14 bus passengers to a hospital with minor injuries. A couple declined to be taken to the hospital and said they would seek personal medical attention.

The sedan suffered front-end damage and was totaled.

As per the report, the OCTA bus was on Route 43 and was on its way to Fresno. The bus was pulling into traffic from the curb after stopping for passengers when the sedan struck it.

The incident remains under investigation.
