Big Rig Crash on 210 Freeway in Pasadena Halts Metro Service

San Gabriel Valley, California (April 26, 2018) – Metro riders experienced delays on Thursday morning after a big rig overturned onto Metro Gold Line tracks in Pasadena.

The incident was reported at about 1:20 a.m. along the 210 Freeway near the Lake Avenue off-ramp.

According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, a FedEx truck collided with a sedan on the roadway for unknown reasons. The impact of the collision caused the truck to overturn.

The overturned vehicle blocked three lanes of the freeway. The trailer toppled onto the Metro tracks.

The truck driver was taken to Huntington Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Authorities said the sedan driver fled the scene of the accident was yet to be located.

The train service between Allen Station and Memorial Park was temporarily suspended.

An investigation is underway.
