Car Crashes into Tree on Briggsmore Avenue In Modesto Killing Passenger Nichole Martinez
Modesto, California (January 17, 2017) – A 36-year-old female passenger was killed Sunday night in a solo-car crash in Modesto, according to a local news source.
The accident took place at about 10 p.m. when a Chevy Corvette driven by 35-year-old Modesto resident Kaleb Isley lost control and struck a tree on Briggsmore Avenue near Coffee Road.
Reportedly, Kaleb was heading west on Briggsmore Avenue, approaching Coffee Road when he was stopped at the red light. His friend also pulled up next to his car. When the light turned green, Kaleb took off and lost control before crashing into a tree.
Kaleb’s passenger, Nichole Martinez, 36, of Chowchilla, was severely injured in the crash and was rushed to a hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, Martinez succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
Kaleb sustained head injuries. The injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The incident remained under investigation.
