Contra Costa, California (December 26, 2016) – According to a California Highway Patrol, one person was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon following a traffic collision involving a Tanker Truck in Contra Costa.

The accident was occurred at about 3:30 p.m. when a mid-size convertible sedan rear-ended a tanker truck on Contra Coast, about 2 miles south of Camino Diablo.

Fire crews responded to the scene and found the sedan totaled with its driver injured.

Paramedics responded to the scene and requested for a Cal-Star helicopter. The injured driver was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. The driver of the truck was not injured in the accident.

The driver’s condition was, however, not indicated in the report.

Vasco Road was closed after the accident, but all the lanes reopened after about an hour.

No further details regarding the crash were provided.

The incident remained under investigation.
