Joseph Atkozyan Dies After Accidental Crash Outside Home in Van Nuys

Van Nuys, California (March 17, 2017) – According to a police report, a 2-year-old boy died after he as accidentally struck by a vehicle outside as Van Nuys home.

The deadly accident occurred in the 1400 block of Kittridge Street at about 1:45 a.m. Monday, March 13.

According to the report, Joseph Atkozyan was playing in a driveway outside a home when a vehicle, driven by his grandmother, accidentally hit him.

The boy was rushed to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills. He was later transferred to Northridge Hospital Medical Center.

Atkozyan died of his injuries two days later. He was pronounced dead at about 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The incident remained under investigation.
