A 26-year-old Victorville man lost his life on April 22, 2016, when his 2014 Yamaha motorcycle collided with a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The man riding the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, and his name was withheld in order to notify the next of kin.
Early morning rush hour commuters were detoured from the Bear Valley Road and the road remained closed until shortly before noon.
The fatal accident happened at 2:19 a.m. on the Bear Valley Road between First and Second Avenues. Hesperia Sheriff’s Station spokesperson Karen Hunt provided details of the fatal accident.
The motorcycle and the SUV were traveling east on Bear Valley Road when the rider of the Yamaha motorcycle struck the rear of the Tahoe, which caused the motorcycle to lose control and crashed on the north side of the road, impacting the curb and causing the death of the cyclist. No one was riding with the cyclist.
The driver of the Tahoe was not injured, but the details of the accident remain under investigation by the Hesperia Sheriff’s department.
