1 Injured in Multi-Car Crash on SR 99 in Chico
Chico, California (April 27, 2018) – One person sustained serious injuries in a traffic collision on Thursday morning in Chico, according to a local news release.
The incident occurred on the northbound lanes of State Route 99 near 1st Street at about 9:34 a.m. April 26.
CHP officers who responded to the incident reported that several vehicles including a black GMC pickup truck, a black Subaru station wagon and a gray Dodge pickup truck were involved in the collision.
At least one person is reported to have sustained major injuries in the crash and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Preliminary investigation report indicated that the crash might have been caused by a distracted driver who then crashed into the rear of one of the vehicles. The investigation is ongoing.
