Victorville, California (December 19, 2016) – According to Daily Press, A 47-year-old male passenger was killed Friday night after the vehicle he was riding in was struck by a suspected drunk driver in Victorville.

The victim, identified as 47-year-old Raymond Ashe, was killed in the crash.

The deadly DUI hit-and-run accident took place at about 10:20 p.m. Saturday when a Toyota Highlander driven by 34-year-old Florence Bernal struck a Toyota Echo from behind.

As per the article, Raymond was a passenger in the in the Echo. The driver of the echo was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for the treatment of severe injuries. Another person reportedly sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

Meanwhile, Bernal and his passenger abandoned the Highlander and fled the scene on foot, but were later located and arrested. They were both taken to Adelanto Detention Center.

The incident remains under investigation.
