Jacquelyn Yvette Pena Killed in New Caney Accident
New Caney, Texas ( April 13, 2017) – According to a police report, a 24-year-old woman died early Wednesday morning after two vehicles collided in New Caney.
The incident took place just before 1 a.m. Wednesday, April 12 on FM 1314 at SH 99.
Reportedly, Carolina Rose Tijerina, 21, was driving a 2007 Chevy Malibu southeast on FM 1314 and was trying to make a left turn at the light at SH 99 when it was struck by a 2006 Ford F150 driven by 24-year-old Jose Guadalupe Oyervides. Ford F150 was heading northwest when it struck the Malibu.
Reportedly, one of the two passengers in Tijerina’s car, Jacquelyn Yvette Pena, was ejected from the car upon the impact. Pena was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The other passenger, 37-year-old Claudia Nellie Riley, was transported to Conroe Regional Medical Center with injuries described as non-incapacitating.
Oyervides was taken to Kingwood Hospital with unspecified injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
