Small Plane Crashes into Two Riverside Homes; Four Killed and 2 hospitalized
Riverside, California (February 27, 2017) – According to a police report, 4 people were killed and two others hospitalized after a plane crashed into two Riverside homes Monday evening.
At about 4:40 p.m., police received reports of a plane near a residential area at Central and Streeter avenues.
As per the report, A Cessna 310 that was crying five people – a man and his wife and three teenagers – crashed just after taking off about a mile from the Riverside Municipal Airport. The five were heading back home in San Jose after attending a weekend cheerleading competition at Disneyland.
The plane crashed killed four people and setting several houses ablaze in the neighborhood.
Three of the deceased victims were on the plane while the fourth was in one of the houses destroyed by the plane.
One person who was also in one of the destroyed homes was taken to Arrowhead Regional Hospital Center in Colton with critical injuries.
Reportedly, two female passengers who were on board the plane survive the crash. One of them, a teenage girl, was taken to Riverside Community Hospital with minor injuries.
The identities of the victims were not released pending family notification.
