Two Killed in Winnie Car Crash With 18-Wheeler on Highway 73 near Highway 124
Winnie, Texas (April 21, 2017) – Two people died Wednesday afternoon following a deadly crash involving a passenger car and an 18-wheeler in Winnie, Chambers County, according to a report by the DPS.
The two-vehicle crash was reported at about 1 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 43 and County Line Road, about 1-2 miles west of Highway 124.
According to the report, A Lincoln Towne Car was traveling southbound on County Line Road when the driver ran a stop sign and traveled onto Highway 73 where it was hit by an 18-wheeler that was heading west on Hwy. 73.
Both occupants of the passenger car were killed in the accident.
Authorities closed all the eastbound lanes of Highway 73 as they investigated the incident.
The incident remains under investigation.
