Austin, Texas (April 10, 2017) – Two people were killed and one other person was critically injured after two vehicles collided in Austin Saturday morning, according to a local news source.
The accident took place at about 8 a.m. on Texas Highway 71 near Thomas Springs Road.
As per the report, two people, a man in his 40s and a woman in her 20 were fatally injured and were pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Austin-Travis County EMS, a third person was taken to South Austin Medical Center with critical, life-threatening injuries.
As per the report, the police shut down the eastbound and the westbound lanes of Highway 71 for a few hours as they investigated the incident.
The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
