An LA County hit and run left a teen and a man dead just before Easter. Four others, including the fleeing driver, were also injured in the crash.

The crash happened on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the entrance to the Town Center Plaza shopping mall. According to witnesses, the 22-year-old suspect, Bryan Rojas, driving a beige Mercedes Benz, sped through an intersection El Paseo and Garfield Avenue. Witnesses say Rojas crashed into a white car that was turning into the mall. The white car was being driven by Lester Larios and carrying his daughter Leslye and her three friends. Leslye and the friends – sisters Angie and Karolina Ruiz and Jennifer Lopez – were headed to a movie.

Lester Larios and 15-year-old Angie Ruiz reportedly died at the scene. The three other girls were in critical condition. The girls grew up together and were active in their church youth group. Their church remembered Larios and Ruiz on Easter morning.

The driver, Rojas, suffered an injury to his forehead. Rojas fled the scene but was arrested the following week, on March 30th.
