A woman was killed recently in a collision between her car and a trailer tractor. The accident occurred in Ortega in late March. The vehicles were traveling on Route 74 at around 2 a.m. when the incident occurred. The woman who was killed in the accident was driving a white small vehicle, which was crushed by the impact of the large trailer tractor. Authorities were called immediately after the incident occurred, and ambulances were rushed to the site. Medical professionals were hoping the save the lives of the individuals involved in the accident, but the woman driving the small vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the trailer tractor was revived at the scene and was then rushed to the hospital to receive treatment for his life threatening injuries. The highway was briefly closed to outside traffic due to the amount of debris that resulted from the fatal accident. As of yet, the victim’s name has not been released to the public, but only to her immediate family through the process of notification of death. Local authorities used the news of the fatality to remind citizens not to drink and drive during the holiday season. It is unknown whether either of the drivers of these vehicles was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident.
