Fatal Escondido Motorcycle Crash on East Grand Avenue
Escondido, California (February 17, 2017) – A 45-year-old man riding a motorcycle was killed late Thursday night following a head-on crash in on East Grand Avenue in Escondido.
The accident took place at about late last night shortly before midnight in the 2100 block of East Grand Avenue.
According to a report, the rider who was eastbound on his 2006 motorcycle failed to maintain a single lane while negotiating a bend on Grand Ave and crashed head-on with a 2015 Honda Accord driven by a 28-year-old man.
As per the report, the rider succumbed to his injuries despite attempts by medics to save his life.
It was not immediately clear if the rider was under the influence at the time of the accident.
The driver of the Honda tested negative of alcohol or drugs and was not hurt in the accident.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
