Hold Mandatory Safety Meetings
A safety meeting should be held at the beginning of each work day. The meeting will help ensure that all of the workers are on the same page. You can discuss how to safely use machinery during the meeting. You should also encourage people to report any unsafe conditions that they see on the job site.
Safety Gear
Many injuries occur because construction workers are not using the proper safety gear. The type of safety gear that needs to be worn is contingent upon the job. However, all construction workers will need to wear eye protection and hard hats. People who are working on roof tops will need to wear harnesses.
Wear Reflective Clothing
All construction workers should wear reflective clothing, including reflective vests. This will increase visibility, which will decrease the worker’s chance of being hit by a car.
